Rev. Beth Monke has been called to serve Grove Lake Lutheran Church.
She is pictured here in a theatrical role, as Hannah Kempfer—a rural Erhard-Pelican area woman who was among the first female legislators ever elected, nearly a century ago.
The Hannah Kempfer story was staged in July in Pelican Rapids, and a performance is also planned at Tonseth Lutheran Church in Edwards—which was Hannah’s home church; and where she is buried. Coincidentally, Rev. Monke also interned at Tonseth church.
