Don Beck

Don Beck, 74, died on April 7, 2026, at his home on White Potato Lake, near Pound, Wisconsin. Don married Lori Olson on June 20, 1980. They have two sons, Daniel (Avery) Beck of Greenville, Wisconsin, and David Beck of Boise, Idaho. Dan and Avery have two daughters, Bentley (age 4) and Scotlyn (age 1), who were the joy of Don's life. Don is survived by his three siblings, Jerry Beck, Susan Houser, and Carolyn Beck. His parents, William and Cleo, preceded him in death.
Don graduated from Fargo South High School in 1970 and North Dakota State University in 1974, where he belonged to the SAE fraternity. Don had many close high school and college friends, and he enjoyed keeping in touch with them.
Don was a stockbroker for over 40 years. While he was a stockbroker in Pelican Rapids, where he opened his own brokerage firm, Don was also the part-time athletic director and a school board member. Don worked with the Pelican Rapids Baseball Association, coached his sons' teams, and officiated basketball and football games.
Don enjoyed watching Daniel coach baseball, softball, and football. Don also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He worked for the Twins during their Florida spring training. Don enjoyed walking his English Golden Retriever, Kirby.
A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at the Cormorant Pub and Boat House in Cormorant Village, Minnesota, on Monday, June 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
