September 04, 2025

Loretta Gayle Dawes (nee Isaacson), age 87, passed away on June 1, 2025 in Loveland, Colorado. She was born in Faribault, Minnesota on July 23, 1937, daughter of the late Henry and Lois (Shores) Isaacson. She is preceded in death by her brothers Deane and Donald.
Loretta was known as Lorrie to friends and neighbors, and affectionately penned herself as MLG (Mom, Lorrie, Grandma) to her family. She was the heart of our family and is greatly missed by her children Susan Eybs (Bob), Peter Dawes (Erin), Stephanie Burns (Larry), and Anne Parker (Bryce). She was cherished by her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren who delighted her with their antics, smarts and talents.
Loretta grew up on a farm outside Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. She graduated Pelican Rapids High School and went on to earn a Nursing degree from University of Minnesota. She lived an extraordinary life in Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, Virginia and Colorado where every community benefited from her passion and devotion. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, mother and grandmother to her family, but also an amazing nurse, choir member, and good citizen and neighbor to us all.
Loretta's legacy is one of generosity, kindness, compassion, love of bluegrass or choral music, and a ferocious advocacy for equality and decency. Her spirit will continue to inspire us for generations. At MLG's request, she wants us all to share a laugh, sing a few hymns, share memories and most of all to spend time with family.
